Volleydogs Continue to Round 2 of Sectionals

The Bulldogs moved on to Round 2 of Sectionals after a 3-0 win over Terre Haute South Vigo. It was an smooth win with set scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-7. 

The Braves were forced into timeouts throughout the match with an ace from junior Jaelyn Keown and 2 aces from freshman Ella Hemmings. 

Head Coach Katie Maples says this win is due to a season full of learning: "We've been talking a lot about being mature and being able to handle what's put on our plate in front of us and do a good job of taking care of business and doing the things we've been asking and following scouting reports." 

Defensive leaders were Kendall Meller and Audrey Naberhaus with 4 blocks together, junior Morgan Syoen with 8 digs, senior Ashley Margetts with 6 digs and junior Jaelyn Keown with 4 digs. 

Offensive leaders were senior Skyy Smith with 12 kills, freshman Quinci Thomas with 8 kills, sophomore Audrey Naberhaus with 5 kills,  senior Ashley Margetts and sophomore Kendall Meller with 4 kills each, senior Katie Hardegree with 24 assists and junior Morgan Syoen with 11 assists. 

The Dogs will play again on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 PM vs. Plainfield at Plainfield.

The Bulldogs beat the Quakers 3-0 on Sept. 9 with set scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 25-15. The Dogs were lead by freshman Quinci Thomas pulling 15 kills and junior Morgan Syoen with 23 assists and 11 digs.
