By Keelen Barlow

Behind 15 kills from Quinci Thomas, the varsity volleyball team defeated Plainfield 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-15) on Sept. 9. The win gave the Bullogs their fourth straight victory and moved the Bulldogs to 7-3 on the season. Morgan Syoen notched a double-double of 23 assists and 11 digs for the Bulldogs.

Brownsburg wasted little time getting out to a quick lead over Plainfield in the first set. The Bulldogs led 14-8 before forcing the Quakers to take their first timeout of the match. Skyy Smith's four kills in the opening set helped the Bulldogs cruise to a 25-13 win.

The Bulldogs would once again jump all over the Quakers at the beginning of the second set. Brownsburg led 7-0 before the Plainfield was even able to score a point. The Bulldogs rode their hot start to a 25-12 second set victory while Thomas accounted for eight of Brownsburg's 15 kills in the set.

Plainfield was reluctant to let the Bulldogs pull away in the third and final set as the Bulldogs' led 14-11 near the midway point. The Bulldogs closed on an 8-5 run to win 25-16 and complete the sweep.

Brownsburg will play host to B&O Rotary Bell rival Avon for their next matchup on Thursday (Sept. 12) Tickets: https://bit.ly/2kB2R6V
