Girls Track Finishes 4th at HCC Championships

The girls track and field team placed 4th in a talented HCC field Tuesday night. There were many great performances for the Bulldogs. Abby Lynch led the team in scoring with a first place finish in the 1600 and 800. In the 1600, Abby set a state leading best time of 4:52.58 setting a new school and conference record. This time also sets a new state record for a sophomore in Indiana. Abby also won the 800 with a time of 2:15.28. Brooke Dixon had a great night as she also broke our previous school record in the 1600 with a time of 4:58.33. Abby and Brooke are the first Brownsburg teammates to break a 5:00 mile in the same race! Brooke also scored 4th place in the 3200. Other scorers for the Bulldogs were Mackenzie Stien and Michaela Barrett placing 3rd and 4th in the 100 hurdles, Lizzy Daniels placed 6th in the 100, Jordan Griffin scored in 6th in the 400, and Michaela Barrett scored in 5th place in the 300 hurdles. In the field events, our throwers had a big night scoring a combined total of 25 team points! Kaylee Price had a 20 ft. personal best in the discus for a 4th place finish and finished 2nd in shot put. Katie Weldy finished 3rd in discus and 5th in the shot put. Te'a Nibbs scored 7 team points finishing 3rd in the high jump and 8th in the long jump. The girls will host Zionsville next Wednesday night for our last home meet.
