3rd Place at Sectionals

The girls track and field team qualified 7 events to the Regional meet Tuesday night with an overall 3rd place team finish. Joy Sopitan had a big night breaking the Sectional and School record in the 200 meter race with a time of 25.88! She also qualified in the 100 meters with a 2nd place finish. Freshman Brooke Dixon is a sectional champion in the 3200 meter run with a great last lap in the race to take the win! Freshman Lauren Rinehart finished 2nd in both the 1600 and 800 to qualify. The 4 x 800 team of Carly Altier, Anna Boone, Gabby Bische, and Brooke Dixon qualified with their runner-up finish. In the field events, Mackenzie Harless jumped a personal best in the high jump clearing the State Standard to automatically qualify with a 5'4" jump! The girls will compete at the Lafayette Jeff Regional next Tuesday. Good luck girls!
