Lady Dogs Run Past Southport

The girls track and field team defeated Southport Tuesday night in their first home meet of the season with a final score of 85-47. Joy Sopitan and Lizzie Daniels took first and second in the 100 meters and LIzzie also took first in the 200 meters. Lauren Rinehart placed first in the mile with a time of 5:12. The 4x100 meter relay of Sopitan, Daniels, Hill, and Brown also placed first. Freshman Mackenzie Stien took first in the 300 hurdles in her first meet of the season. The girls swept the 3200 run with Brooke Dixon in first followed by Emma Cougill and Sydney Montgomery. The 4x400 relay of Sopitan, Barrett, Neddeau, and Rinehart won in an exciting finish to finish the meet. In the field events, Mackenzie Barrett took first in high jump, and Ali Ray won the pole vault. In the Shot put and discus the girls swept both events with Veronika Roberts in first followed by Kaylee Price and Katherine Weldy. The Bulldogs will host Lebanon and Speedway next Tuesday.
