Girls' Track Competes at Regionals

Several members of the Girls Track team traveled to Lafayette Jeff Tuesday for Regional action and came away with some nice results. Leading the way was Senior Claire Hathaway who had a great night in the long jump as she once again set a new school record with an incredible jump of 18' 6" and became the Regional champ for the event! In addition, she also played a key part in the 4x100 relay, along with Joy Sopitan, Courtney Stull, and Lizzie Daniels as they cruised to a new school record of 49.5 seconds, nearly a full second better than the previous record! Other notable performances came from Stull placing 4th in the 100m hurdles and Sopitan breaking her best time in the 200m. Mackenzie Harless and Mackenzie Barrett also finished up a strong 2nd half of the season with solid performances in the high jump. Congrats to these girls and best of luck to Claire Hathaway as she competes in the State Finals on Friday, June 3rd!
