Track and Field Celebrates Seniors

The Girls Track team opened the outdoor season with a nice win last night as easily came out on top of both Lebanon and Speedway. With first place finishes in nearly every event the girls have put up some impressive performances already. A few highlights include sprinters Joy Sopitan finishing 1st in the 100m dash, Lizzie Daniels 1st in the 200m dash, and Michaela Barrett 1st in the 400m dash. Courtney Stull and Shanti Gregg both took wins in the 100m and 300m hurdle races. Senior Allison Hering started her season by cruising to a win in the 800m run. Distance runner Anna Boone had a terrific finish down the last straight edging out the competition by less than 1 second. Sophomore Emily Truax ran a great last lap to pick up 1st in the 2 mile. In field events Claire Hathaway continued to roll in the long jump as she placed 1st overall and Mackenzie Harless not only won, but grabbed a new personal best in the high jump by clearing 5' 2"!

 

The Boys' track and field team honored 11 seniors Tuesday night and took home the victory against Lebanon and Speedway with a final score of 97-31-23. Winners taking first and second place for the Bulldogs included: Eli Johnson and Corey Griffen in the high jump, Devin Humes and Reis Thomas in the shot put, Devin Dumes and Kaiden Warren in the discus, Justin Garnett and Hunter Weaver in the pole vault, Corey Griffen and Reis Thomas in long jump, Levi Wilbur and Christian Hammerly in the mile, Corey Griffen and Shane Bonness in the 300 hurdles, Hari and Devon Boone in the 800, Marcus Fierek and Elijah Wagner in the 3200 run, and winning the 110 hurdles was Jaylon Keith and Tyler Kirtz took first in the 200 meters.
