Girls' Track competes in HCC Meet

Facing some unfortunate injuries and tough competition the girls' track team came up short in their bid to improve on their conference standing Tuesday night. Despite the rough night for the team there were some very good individual performances, conference championships, and personal records. In an exciting tie-breaker finish Sophomore Claire Hathaway walked away as the best long jumper in the conference with an amazing jump of 16' 10". It was also a great night for the distance runners as Julia Popenfoose and Cassidy Brown set new personal records in the mile running 5:30 and 5:36. Within the same hour the two came right back and smashed their all-time 2 mile records with Popenfoose running an 11:53 and Brown cruising in at 11:43. Sophomore Mallory Roark also put in a very solid night running the team's best 800 time of the season at 2:30. Nice work girls and good luck at Sectionals next week!
