Girls Tennis Competes at HCC Tournament
On Saturday, the Girls' Varsity Tennis Team placed second to the HSE Royals by 4 points in the HCC Tournament. Throughout the day, the Bulldogs faced 6 different tie-breaks in a very tough competitive environment, featuring 5 teams ranked in the state top 20. Unfortunately, we were unable to convert on those tie-breaks and were inched out of a championship. However, we did earn All-Conference in three positions and brought home a singles' championship. Number one singles Kara Mehringer earned All-HCC, number three singles Ellie Hughes was named All-HCC, and number one doubles Caitlin Preda and Payton Haygood were all All-HCC. Hughes was champion at the number three position for the second year in a row, a phenomenal feat!
The 'Dogs will be back in action on Tuesday versus Plainfield in a HOME match honoring our Seniors: Kara Mehringer, Hailey Blood, Payton Haygood, Caitlin Preda, and Lily House. Festivities will begin at 4:30. Match time is at 5 p.m. Please come out and applaud these Bulldogs.
