Girls Swim/Dive Tops Pike

Girls Swim/Dive Tops Pike

Last night the Bulldog swimming and diving teams hosted sectional rival Pike Red Devils.

The Bulldog men dominated the night winning 134-47, winning 10 of the 12 events.  The women swimmers were in a tough meet all night. The lady Bulldogs only won 2 individual events and 1 relay, but relied on their depth to take the night.

Winning on the men's side were:

Caleb Peschke in the 200 Medley Relay.

Jake Johnson in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free and 400 Free Relay.

Caleb Anderson in the 200 Medley Relay.

Will Scott in the 200 Medley Relay.

Austin Kehr in the 200 IM and 500 Free.

Nate Schaekel in the 50 Free, 100 Fly and 400 Free Relay.

Kale Davidson in  Diving.

Noah Berryman in the 100 Free.

Scott Hasselbrinck in the 100 Breast.

Leister Perrin in the 400 Free Relay.

Lee Grimes in the 400 Free Relay.

On the women's side the Bulldogs team depth carried most of the night, but needed a few huge wins to secure the win.

The Bulldog divers provided the first big boost of the night.  The divers swept the top 3 scoring places with Hannah Truax winning, Maya Leman second and Emma Wolf third.

Later in the evening Senior Abby Callis swam a season best 100 Back for the only individual swimming win on the night.

Finally, with the meet on the line, the women's 400 Free Relay teams swept the top 3 places in the 400 Free Relay.  The winning relay consisted of Logan Replogle, Jenny Dreessen, Maranda Peak and Elise Dahlke.  Second place, and the meet, was secured by Erin Haycox, Maria Gutzweiler, Annika Schaekel and Joley Clodfelter.  Not to be outdone, the relay of Abby Callis, Erin Mehringer, Maria Scholz and Leah Kingery finished ahead of Pike's best relay.

Wednesday the JV team takes on the Varsity swimmers and divers from North Putnam at home while the Varsity team heads to new HCC rival Franklin Central on Thursday.
