Bio

Seventh-year head coach Josh George has built a strong program in one of the most competitive soccer conferences in the state of Indiana. In a short time George has turned the Bulldogs into a perennial top ten team in IHSAA Class 3A and a threat to advance deep in the state tournament.

Brownsburg clinched a second consecutive IHSAA Sectional championship in 2021 as the Bulldogs won over Plainfield in thrilling fashion. The 1-0 double-overtime victory avenged a regular season loss to the Quakers and sent the Bulldogs to the IHSAA Regional for the second straight season. Brownsburg hosted the IHSAA Regional Semi-final at Our Pitch, posting a tough effort in a 2-0 loss to eventual IHSAA Stare

The Bulldogs made history in 2020 under George as Brownsburg won its first IHSAA Sectional championship since 2012. The 3-1 overtime win over Avon avenged five consecutive postseason losses to the Orioles and put Brownsburg in the IHSAA Regional against eventual IHSAA State finalist Guerin Catholic.

He won his 50th game at the helm of the program in 2020 and was selected as ISCA District Coach of the Year. Seniors Abby Lynch and Grace Crawford were named ISCA All-State selections following the season. It marked the first time since at least 2011 that the program has received multiple ISCA All-State selections.

2020 was the culmination of several successful seasons under George, who has guided Brownsburg to five consecutive winning seasons and a 53-29-10 record in his tenure. This success comes after the program went through a five-year drought without a winning season. Under George's guidance, the Bulldogs have advanced in the state tournament during five of George's six years as the coach.

George quickly turned around the program when he first took over in 2016.

During his inaugural campaign the Bulldogs' 8-6-4 record was their first winning mark since 2010. They advanced to the Sectional semi-final for the first time since 2015 and doubled their win total from the previous year. What followed was back to back 12-5-1 marks in 2017 and 2018. The 2017 Bulldogs were the first to amass double-digit wins since 2012. The 2018 Bulldogs finished the year ranked No.11 in Class 3A and third in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference standings.

George has coached several Bulldogs to the next level as well as numerous All-HCC, ISCA All-State, ISCA All-District and ICSA Academic All-District selections.

In his nearly 20 years of coaching experience, George has held positions at the club, high school and collegiate levels.

George has worked both as a coach and a Director of Coaching for Westside United FC, a Premier level soccer club based out of Avon, IN since joining the program in 2002.

He started as a coach for the club where George has led over half a dozen teams to high levels of success. He has been a part of 11 State Championships, 3 State Finalists, 5 State Semi-Finals, 3 Regional Semi-Finals and 1 Regional Final in his time with the club.

In 2007, George was added as the Director of Coaching for WSU.

George worked as a Volunteer Assistant in 2002 for the Men’s Soccer program at the University of Indianapolis, his alma mater. He attended UIndy from 2002-2006 where he was a member of the Men’s soccer team. He earned four letters and was a part of the program's second-ever stretch of consecutive winning seasons. As a senior, he played in all but one of the team's matches.

George graduated from UIndy with a degree in Elementary Education.

Prior to his career at UIndy, George played nearby at Danville High School from 1998-2002. He was a three-year team captain and All-conference selection with the Warriors. George graduated from Danville as the school's all-time leader in assists and was awarded the "Team MVP" his senior season.

George is married to his wife, Rachel, and has two daughters, Chloe and Isabella.
