@bhsdogs_gsoccer takes down McCutcheon 3-1

The varsity girls' soccer team defeated McCutcheon 3-1 on Sept. 16 to move their 2019 record to 6-3-2. The Bulldogs used a pair of second half goals by Breana Montgomery and Lydia Emmert to sink the host Mavericks.

For the second time in as many games, Grace Crawford gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the 26th minute, she sent in a shot from outside the box that tucked into the far side of the net. The mark was her sixth goal of the year.

The Bulldogs held a possession advantage at halftime and led the shot count 6-3.

McCutcheon would find the equalizer just two minutes into the second half, but the Bulldogs were resilient. Brownsburg answered with a pair of goals that came six minutes apart.

After several momentum swings in possession, Montgomery struck off a header-goal in the 57th minute. Jayden Gibson sent in the assist by the end line. Emmert then put the Bulldogs ahead by a pair in the 63rd minute after a feed across the slot from Grace Crawford.

The Bulldogs put the clamps on the Mavericks in the back end of the second half to close out a 3-1 win.

Brownsburg will host No. 8 Fishers in their next matchup on Sept. 18. Tickets: https://bit.ly/2mlWMfj
