Girls' Soccer Tops Avon

The Bulldogs came out hungry on Wednesday night, ready to try and redeem the bitter taste that was left from last year's sectional loss.  Possession was Brownsburg's for most of the first half with Brownsburg creating some quality chances and Avon being held to 0 shots.  It wasn't until late in the half off a Kylie Conrad goal from Ava Dotlich did Brownsburg finally score.  Avon responded early in the second half with a goal that had the Dogs on their heels for a five-minute stretch.  Senior goalkeeper Frannie Brewer then had to save a PK and the Bulldogs finally woke back up.  Another goal came from freshmen Kylie Conrad off a Grace Crawford free kick.  Abby Lynch then earned a PK of her own which she made to put the Bulldogs up 3 to 1.  With about 5 minutes left in the match, Abby Lynch scored another goal off a great counterattack.  Mapuana Stephens had the assist.  Brownsburg out shot Avon 22-3 in the match and 21 players for Varsity got into the match.  Brownsburg hosts county Rival Plainfield on Monday in a non-conference match.  Varsity starts at 7:00pm.  Get there to support your Lady Bulldogs!
