No.3 @BHSDogsWrestlin tops Ben Davis, 54-10

The Brownsburg varsity wrestling team led wire-to-wire in its dual with Ben Davis on January 16. The Bulldogs beat the Giants 54-10 by winning all but two bouts in the match.

Brownsburg moved to 17-2 in duals this season with the result.

The Bulldogs rested several of their top wrestlers and the match was competitive through the first five bouts. The Giants' win at 132 trimmed the Brownsburg lead to 15-11 early in the match. The Bulldogs would regain control and win the final nine bouts of the match.

The most competitive matchups of the dual were both wins for Brownsburg. 138-pound Kaelen Montgomery registered a 6-5 win in his first varsity bout of the season. Moments later, 145-pound Nick Cicciarelli held off a late takedown attempt from the Giants to win 4-3.

Brownsburg won six bouts by fall including the final three mathups of the night.

     NOTABLES:

  • 285-pound Dorian Keys remained undefeated on the season with his dominating win in the dual
  • 113-pound Dylan McKelvey and 138-pound Kaelen Montgomery both secured their first varsity wins of the season
  • Ethan Early is undefeated in his two varsity starts this season
  • Brownsburg has won seven consecutive duals over Ben Davis
