Bio

David Janney was named the Head Coach of Brownsburg Girls Golf in November of 2021.

In his nine years of high school golf experience as player at Avon High School (2006-2010) and a girls golf head coach for Jupiter High School in Florida (2017-2019), Janney guided the programs to IHSAA and FHSAA State Championships. He has spent two years as an Assistant under Brownsburg Boys Golf Head Coach Tom Maples, where he helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2021 IHSAA Sectional championship.

Janney led Jupiter to the 2019 FHSAA 3A State Championship, the school's first golf State title, during his three-year tenure with the Warriors. The 21-stroke victory dethroned Florida golf state power Lake Mary High School, who had clinched four consecutive FHSAA State championships. En route to the state championship Janney, the 2019 Florida Dairy Farmer's Girls Golf Coach of the Year, guided Taylor Oberparleiter to a fifth-place individual finish at the 2019 FHSAA 3A Golf State Finals. That mark includes a final round 5-under 67.

The Jupiter State Championship came after the Warriors finished third under Janney at the 2018 FHSAA 3A State Finals.

A graduate of Avon High School, Janney helped lead the Orioles to the 2009 IHSAA State Championship along with Maples, who was formerly on staff at Avon. Janney, who was also a member of Avon's 2008 IHSAA State Runner-up team, finished fifthteenth at the 2009 IHSAA Boys Golf State Finals.

He played collegiately for the University of North Alabama for a pair of seasons before transferring back home to play for the University of Southern Indiana from 2012-2015. Janney graduated from Southern Indiana with a bachelor's in history & education.

Janney, who is a global studies teacher at Brownsburg East Middle School, married his wife, Janelle, in the spring of 2021. He enjoys spending time outdoors during his free time.
