No.5/6 Fishers and Perry Meridian await No.13/17 @bhsdogsghoops this weekend

The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team will return to action this weekend with a pair of games. The Bulldogs will travel to Hoosier Crossroads Conference foe Fishers on Friday before hosting Perry Meridian at the Varsity Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs come into the two-game stretch with a 13-7 record (3-1 on Hoosier Crossroads Conference).

     Bulldog Bits

  • Brownsburg is riding a four-game win streak that includes last week's Hendricks County Girls' Basketball Tournament championship run
  • The Bulldogs are on their longest win streak since winning 13-straight games during the 2018-2019 season
  • Nine different Bulldogs scored in Brownsburg's wins over Cascade and Plainfield; those marks are tied for the most this season
  • Brownsburg's 74-40 win over Cascade was the Bulldogs' largest margin of victory since it defeated Greenwood 78-27 in December of 2018
  • Mackenzie Stien averaged 14.0 points per game over Brownsburg's run to the Hendricks County Tournament championship last week
  • Stien has reached double-figure scoring in each of Brownsburg's last four games; it is the first time in her Brownsburg career that she has scored reached double-figures scoring in four straight games

     About the Tigers

Fishers is 16-1 (4-0 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference) after it was handed its first loss of the year last week. The Tigers 16-game win streak was snapped with a 74-53 loss to North Central on January 11.

The Tigers, ranked No.5 in the ICGSA Poll and No.6 in the IBCA poll, are off to their best start since Fishers High School was re-established in 2006.

5-foot-9 junior Katie Burton leads the Tigers in scoring with a 15.7 point per game average. Burton has scored in double-figures in all but three games this year.

Fishers boasts the highest offensive average of any HCC team this season.

     About the Falcons

Perry Meridian is on a three-game skid heading into the Saturday night matchup. The Falcons are 7-10 this year (3-2 in the Mid-State Conference).

The Falcons are averaging just 28.3 points per game over their last three matchups.

Ali Dale and Sally Mortensen, a pair of juniors, lead Perry Meridan this season with 10.8 and 10.3 ppg averages.

     Up Next

Brownsburg will have just three games left in the regular season after the completion of this week. The Bulldogs are set to play at Pike on January 21 to close out the non-conference portion of their schedule.
