No.12/14 @bhsdogsghoops erases halftime deficit to beat Avon in Hendricks County Tournament

The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team defeated Avon 57-48 in the quarter-final round of the 2020 Hendricks County Girls' Basketball Tournament on January 9. With the win the Bulldogs advance to play Cascade on Friday in the couunty tournament semi-final. The result also gave Brownsburg it's 20th consectuive win over Avon (regular season, county tournament and postseason)

Allison Bosse led all scorers with 20 points and pitched in four rebounds and four steals. She scored all ten of Brownsburg's points in the first quarter and went on to post 18 points in the first half. Mackenzie Stien continued her recent tear for the Bulldogs as she scored 15 points in the second half. 

Avon jumped out to a big lead on Brownsburg with 18-5 run in the second quarter. They led the Bulldogs. 36-27 at the break.

Brownsburg surged back in the third quarter as they outscored the Orioles 19-5. Stien's bucket late in the quarter capped off Brownsburg's run to tie the game at 41. Moments later Kailyn Terrell connected on a big three to put Brownsburg ahead of the Orioles. 

Stien's eight points in the fourth quarter helped the Bulldogs complete their furious comeback and close out the Orioles.

Brownsburg will take on the Cascade Cadets back at Tri-West as the Hendricks County Girls' Basketball Tournament continues on Friday night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM with the winner advancing to the county championship game.
