The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team got back in the win column as they defeated IHSAA Class 3A No.8 Greensburg 56-50 at the Varsity Fieldhouse on January 4th. The win snapped a four-game skid for the Bulldogs and gave them their first victory in 2020 to move to 10-7 on the year.

Mackenzie Stien scored a team-high 17 points in the win for Brownsburg. Allison Bosse scored 16 points after she exploded for 12 points, including four crucial free-throws, in the final quarter. Junior point guard Ally Becki sat out her second consecutive game with a leg injury.

It was Stien that paced the Bulldogs early in the matchup as she scored Brownsburg's first seven points. Greensburg held a 12-10 advantage after the opening quarter.

Brownsburg fought back and took the lead after a strong second quarter. The Bulldogs grabbed a 30-26 advantage after Quinci Thomas' big bucket underneath the basket just before the end of the half.

The Bulldogs led 38-36 after three quarters, setting up an exciting finish at the Fieldhouse. The Pirates went on to grab a slight edge near the beginning of the quarter but Bosse would flip the switch to help Brownsburg tie the game at 46.

The Bulldogs grabbed a lead and made the most of their trips to the charity stripe late in the game to close it out.
