No.13/12 @bhsdogsghoops overpowers Avon in second half to win B&O Trail Rotary Bell

By Keelen Barlow

The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team defeated Avon 53-33 on December 20 to win the B&O Trail Rotary Bell. It marked the 12th straight regular season win for Browsburg over Avon and the 19th consecutive win over all. Brownsburg moved to 28-5 against the Orioles since the year 2000.

Allison Bosse and Mackenzie Stien both led the Bulldogs with 14 points a piece. Ally Becki had 11 points, 7 rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Though the Bulldogs put three scorers in double figures in the game, it was their defense that helped them secure a win. Brownsburg forced 21 turnovers in the win and held both of Avon's top scorers well above their season averages in points.

Becki busted out of the gate with 7 of the first 9 Brownsburg points in the game. She helped propel the Bulldogs to a 13-10 lead after the opening quarter.

The Bulldogs took a 19-16 into the locker room, setting up a huge second-half surge for Brownsburg. The Bulldogs outscored Avon 21-4 in a run that stretched across the third and fourth quarters.

Bosse scored 12 of her fourteen points in the second half. That included a pair of three's that helped Brownsburg's lead swell to 46-28 early in the fourth quarter.
