No. 8/8 @bhsdogsghoops comes up short against No. 7/7 Hamilton Southeastern

The Brownsburg varsity girls' basketball team fell 51-45 to No. 7/7 Hamilton Southeastern at the Varsity Fieldhouse on November 26th. The Bulldogs trailed by double figures heading into the fourth quarter but the Royals were able to hold off Brownsburg's late surge. 

Brownsburg moved 6-2 (1-1 in Hoosier Crossroads Conference) with the result. 

Ally Becki led the Bulldogs with 17 points in the loss after she totaled 15 of Brownsburg's 26 points in the first half. Allison Bosse used a strong second half to score 13 points in the game. 

Brownsburg trailed HSE 22-13 after one quarter but the Bulldogs cut the Royals' lead to a single possesion in the second quarter. Becki opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run that cut HSE's lead to five points. She then connected on a three in the near corner later in the second quarter that made it a 27-24 game. 

HSE led Brownsburg 31-26 at the break.

The Royals led 45-35 after a strong third quarter but Brownsburg made a late surge. 

The Bulldogs battled to trim the Royals' lead to just two points late in the game. Brownsburg opened the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run that nearly brought the roof off the Varsity Fieldhouse. Bosse hit her third 3-pointer of the night to kickstart the run for Brownsburg. Mackenzie Stein then forced a turnover at half court that lead to a wide open Ally Becki layup and made it a 45-43 game. 

HSE answered with a clutch 3-pointer on the other end and closed out the win just moments later.

Brownsburg will continue their run of three consecutive HCC games with a trip to Franklin Central on December 6.
