Girls' Basketball Secures 2nd Place Finish with Win over Fishers

The Varsity Girls' Basketball team secured a second place finish in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference on Saturday night with a convincing win over a tough Fishers team, 55-44.  The Dogs improved to 15-3 on the season and 8-1 in the HCC.  The Dogs jumped out to a quick start with Stephanie Mavunga scoring 10 of the Dogs' 18 first quarter points.  The score was 18-11 after 8 minutes of action.  The Tigers played tenancious defense in the second quarter holding the Dogs to just 7 points and cutting the lead to two.  The Dogs entered halftime up 25-23.  The Dogs controlled the boards and attacked the basket in the final two quarters of action, outscoring the Tigers by 9 in the second half.  Kayle Comer scored 13 of her season high 15 points in the final two quarters of action.  Kayle was 6 of 7 from the free throw line.  Stephanie scored a game high 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.  Chloe Dygert had a great night.  Chloe was 3 of 3 from the field, finishing with 6 points.  Chloe dished out 4 assists, grabbed 3 rebounds and had 2 steals.  Lindsey Low had a solid performance, scoring 6 points, grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing out 2 assists.  Margaret Oles did a great job handling the Tiger's pressure at point.  Margaret dished out 2 assists, had 2 steals and 3 rebounds.  Margaret also hit a critical 3 in the third quarter.  It was an all around great team victory!
