Bulldogs Open Tournament With 75-43 Win Over Titans

The varsity girls' basketball team got off to a fast start in the first round of the IHSAA State Tournament Wednesday night with a convincing win over Indianapolis Arsenal Tech, 75-43.   

The Dogs shot 57% from two point range (25/44) and 50% from three-point land (5/10). 

The Dogs jumped out to an early lead with Lindsey Dall and Ryne Carr scoring 19 of the Dogs' 22 first quarter points.  The Dogs continued to push the ball in the second quarter and went into half time leading the Trojans 41-25. 

The Dogs turned up the defense in the final two quarters, holding Tech to 18 second half points. 

Dall scored a game and career high 20 points, and was very efficient from the floor hitting 9 - 11 shots.  She also pulled down seven rebounds. 

Carr scored 15 points and was 3 - 3 from behind the three point arc.  She also dished out four assists and had three steals. 

Erika Lesch stepped up in the fourth quarter hitting back-to back-threes, finishing the game with 12 points and four rebounds. 

Allison DeVaney played great defense and finished with nine points and four rebounds. 

Stephanie Mavunga fought through Tech's double team and scored all eight of her points in the third quarter.  She also pulled down eight defensive rebounds. 

Morgan Miller dished out a career high 10 assists. 

Katie Reinhart, Elissa Hall and Alaura McKemie combined for nine points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists. 

The Dogs will face Decatur Central team at Tech Friday night.
