Dogs Beat Plainfield 66-40

The varsity girls' basketball team came away with a victory last night defeating county rival, Plainfield, 66-40. 

The Dogs jumped out to a quick start in the first quarter, leading the Quakers 16-9 after 8 minutes of action.  Plainfield fought back in the second quarter forcing several Bulldog turnovers with their tenacious full court press. The Dogs finished the half with a 10 point lead. 

The Dogs were powerful on the offensive end in the final 16 minutes of action, scoring 37 second half points, 25 of which were scored in the final quarter of play. 

Stephanie Mavunga had the best game of her career finishing with a triple double.  Stephanie scored 30 points, hitting 81% of her shots.  Mavunga also grabbed a career high 22 rebounds and finished with 11 blocks. 

Allison DeVaney, Ryne Carr and Morgan Miller played great defense, holding Plainfield's top scorers to a collective 14 points.  DeVaney scored a season high 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.  Miller hit two threes early in the fourth quarter and Alaura McKemie scored three baskets down the stretch to help the Dogs secure the win.  Katie Reinhart finished the night with 7 rebounds.  

The Dogs will face Noblesville on Saturday afternoon to finish up play before the holiday break.
