Ben Davis Shows Off #1 Ranking

The varsity girls' basketball team traveled to Ben Davis on Saturday night to face the top ranked team in the state. 

The Dogs had trouble handling the Giant's defensive pressure in the first quarter and got behind early losing the contest 60-44.  The Dogs battled throughout, closing the lead to 10 at one point in the game and playing the Giants almost even in the final three quarters of action. 

Stephanie Mavunga led the Dogs with nine points and four rebounds.  Morgan Miller added eight points, three rebounds and three steals.  Alaura McKemie finished with seven points, two steals and two rebounds. 

The Dogs will play Covenant Christian on Tuesday night at the Varsity Fieldhouse.
