The Brownsburg varsity softball team has finalized their schedule for the upcoming 2020 season. The Bulldogs will play a 21-game slate during the regular season plus additional games at a pair of invitationals

Brownsburg will play five teams that ended last season ranked in the ICGSA Class 4A softball poll. That group is highlighted by both IHSAA Class 4A Softball State Finalists from this past spring

"In order to compete in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and the IHSAA Softball State Tournament we know that a competitive schedule is required," Brownsburg head coach Keith Brown said. "The 2020 schedule will challenge us throughout the season with outstanding programs from the HCC and plenty of high-level non-conference opponents as well."

Last season the Bulldogs won their first IHSAA Sectional Championship since 2014 en-route to just their second Semi-State appearance in program history. Brownsburg posted a 21-7 record and won the Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship with a clean slate against conference foes.

The Bulldogs return a wealth of players from last year's historic squad including ICGSA 1st Team All-State selection Mackenzie Bedrick. 2019 All-HCC selections Marah Wood and Kelsey Endress also return for the Bulldogs.

Brownsburg will open their season on March 24 as they host Indianapolis Scecina. That matchup if the first of 13 home games for Brownsburg in 2020. The Bulldogs will close the opening week of the season with a road trip to Hamilton Southeastern for their HCC opener on March 26th.

Within the first seven games of the season Brownsburg will play three matchups against both 2019 IHSAA Class 4A Softball State Finalists. All three games will be played at home.

Brownsburg will host a doubleheader with 2019 IHSAA Class 4A runner-up Leo on April 11. The reigning IHSAA Class 4A State Champion Center Grove Trojans will pay a visit to Brownsburg less than a week later on April 16.

The Bulldogs' non-conference schedule is also highlighted by games at a pair of regular season invites. The Bulldogs will make a trip to Columbus, Indiana for the Columbus North Invite on April 18. Brownsburg is also scheduled to play in the Carmel Invite at Carmel High School on April 24-25.

Matchups and first pitch times for both invites will be determined at a later date.

The Bulldogs will defend their 2019 Hoosier Crossroads Conference championship with a 7-game slate against HCC foes. Brownsburg will host Westfield (April 14th), Zionsville (April 21st), Franklin Central (May 5th) and Noblesville (May 12th). They will travel to Hamilton Southeastern (March 26th), Avon (April 28th) and Fishers (May 19th).

Following the regular season, Brownsburg will play in IHSAA Sectional 12 which also features Avon, Decatur Central, Plainfield, Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South.

Terre Haute South will host IHSAA Sectional 12 in 2020.
