JV Softball Falls to HSE

The Brownsburg JV Purple Softball team ran into an offensive buzz saw last night as Hamilton Southeastern defeated the Bulldogs 8-3 on the strength of a 4 home run effort by the Royals.

The Dogs fell behind 1-0 after one inning of play and struggled to find their offensive footing until late in the game.

At the plate, Brownsburg was led by the trio of Kiersten Huff, Tori Breckler, and Mallerie Gordon.  Huff collected two hits and scored a run while Breckler finished the night with three base knocks and a run scored.  Gordon provided the Dogs with their biggest highlight of the night as she collected her first career home run, a towering shot to left-center field in the game's last inning.

The Dogs played near-flawless defense all night, especially the foursome of Natalie Metzger, Bri Howard, Harley Maples, and Carmen Siebens, who each made quality defensive plays for the Purple.

The JV Purple looks to right the ship tomorrow at home against Cathedral.
