The Brownsburg Bulldogs clinched their first ever HCC Conference Championship Tuesday night, defeating the Fishers Tigers 6-5 in a close, nail-biting contest. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Marah Wood hit a solo homerun over the centerfield fence. The Tigers answered back with a 3 run inning in the top of the 5th and took the lead until the bottom of the inning when the Bulldogs came back to tie it up at 3 with a shot to the right-center gap from Senior, Anna Carroll. The Bulldogs answered again in the 6th inning taking the lead 6-3 with a rally startup from the middle of the lineup. Freshman, Kaylee Larkin led off the inning with a single, followed by a single from Senior, Sydney Rodegheir. Rachel Young moved the two runners over to 2nd and 3rd with a sacrifice bunt. After an intentional walk and hit-by-pitch the Bulldogs took the lead 4-3. A 2 run double from Senior, Sophie Bosket put the Dogs up 6-3 going into the 7th, where they remained in the lead for a 6-5 final score.

Freshman, Kelsey Endress started things off for the Bulldogs in the circle, striking out 4 and giving up 5 hits total for the night. Sophomore, Maddy Edwards came in to relieve Endress and get the Bulldogs out of a bind in the 5th inning and clinch the win. Endress then came back in during the 7th to get the remaining two outs to close out the contest. The Bulldogs will be back in action Wednesday night, at home against Lawrence Central. Go Bulldogs!
