JV Loss

Saturday afternoon the JV Purple softball team took the field to play a very talented and big hitting Franklin Central Flashes team. At the end of the game, however, the Flashes prevailed 7-6. The ladies never quit and fought to the very last out. They had the tying run at third with two outs, in the bottom of the 7th, but couldn't plate the runner.

Sophomore Lydia Twomey led the team at the plate going 3-4 with two RBI, one base on balls and scored a run. Junior Rachel Young was 2-3 with one walk and scored a run and freshman Kiersten Huff was 1-4 but had a huge triple in the 7th inning to drive in 3 runs and make the game close again.

Twomey also pitched the game from the circle and threw a very solid game. She scattered seven hits over the seven innings, had two strike outs and gave up only one walk. She had four earned runs for the day.

The JV Purple team next plays tonight at Cathedral where they look to get back on their winning ways.
