JV Win

The JV Purple softball team stepped between the foul lines to take on the Plainfield Quakers last night and ended the night with a 13-0 win in five innings. The ladies jumped on Plainfield early scoring six runs in the top of the first and then added runs in every inning to stay unbeaten at 11-0 on the season.

Junior Ciara Casteel led the way at the plate going 4-4, scoring 3 runs, stole three bases and 3 RBI with one of her hits a rocket shot homerun in third inning. Others contributing at the plate were Freshman Taylor Ballinger, Junior Rachel Young and Sophomore Raegan Bucksot.

Sophomore Mallerie Gordon pitched three innings for the win giving up only one hit with five strikeouts and no base on balls. Junior Ciara Casteel pitched two innings in relief giving up one hit and one walk with two strikeouts in the shut out.

The JV Purple team next play at home on Saturday against South Dearborn at 11:00 am. Come out and watch as they try to stay undefeated on the year.
