JV Win

The JV purple softball team took to the diamond Friday evening versus the McCutcheon Mavericks. After starting the year 8-0, they found themselves down 6-0 in the third inning. The JV purple ladies searched down deep for the perseverance to take McCutcheon's best shot and found the determination and personal fortitude to fight back for their teammates and themselves. In the end, they came away with a 16-6 victory in six innings.

Sophomore Lydia Twomey came in for relief in the third inning trailing 6-0. Twomey pitched four innings of no hit ball. She had eight strikeouts and no walks with not one base runner to get the win and keep the undefeated season goal alive.

Offensively the whole team contributed in the comeback with aggressive base running and clutch hits. Sophomore Raegan Bucksot went 3 for 3 with a single, double, triple and 3 RBI. Freshman Kiersten Huff was 3-4 scoring three runs and two RBI. Sophomore Lydia Twomey was 3 for 5 with a double, two RBI and scored two runs. The key to the comeback though was the timely hitting of sophomore Taylor Hendrickson who was 2 for 3 on the night and had a one hopper to the fence down the left field line with bases loaded to plate three and start the momentum.

The JV purple ladies are next in action on Tuesday at conference rival Zionsville.
