JV Win

The JV Purple softball team faced off against a very good Mooresville Pioneers team last night and ended the night with a 7-3 win. The game was 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth when the bats came alive to break the game open.

Junior Ciara Casteel led the way at the plate going 3-4 scoring 3 runs. Casteel also had a double and two RBI. Sophomore Raegen Bucksot and Freshman Kiersten Huff were 2-3, Junior Rachel Young and Sophomore Lydia Twomey were 2-4. Sophomores Taylor Hendrickson and Emily Walkup and Freshman Vivianne Harris had one hit each respectfully to contribute to the win.

Sophomore Lydia Twomey pitched six innings for the win giving up five hits with only one walk and two strike outs. Sophomore Mallerie Gordon came in to close out the game in the seventh and had two strike outs, one base on balls, but gave up no hits.

The JV Purple ladies next play tonight at Ben Davis and Friday evening home against McCutcheon with both games starting at 5:30 pm. Come out and support the lady Bulldogs as they look to stay unbeaten on the year.
