JV Win

The JV Purple softball team moved to 2-0 and won the first home game of the year against the Roncalli Lady Rebels in an 8-6 walk off thriller. After letting the Rebels come back to tie the game at 6-6 in the 6th inning, the pitching and defense tightened back up in the top of the 7th to hold the Lady Rebels off the board. Then Freshman Vivianne Harris walked to lead off the bottom of the 7th and Sophomore Tori Breckler hit a bomb over the centerfield fence for the walk off win. For the night Breckler was 3 for 4 scoring 3 runs and junior Rachel Young went 3 for 3 with two homeruns and 5 RBI.

Defensively, sophomore Mallerie Gordon pitched four innings for the win giving up only four hits with sophomore Lydia Twomey coming in in relief and getting 3 strike outs in three solid innings.

Next up for the JV Purple is arch rival Avon at home next Tuesday 4/10 at 6:00. Come out and support the Dogs as they look to down the Orioles in their first conference and county game of the year.
