#10 HSE Narrowly Defeats #20 Bulldogs

The #20 Brownsburg Bulldogs lost a tough, hard-fought game Tuesday night to the #10 HSE Royals. The Dogs started the contest off strong, and scored 6 runs in the top of the first inning. They were unable to score again until the 6th inning, and the Royals managed to slowly climb their way back in. The score was 6-6 going into the 7th inning, and neither the Bulldogs nor the Royals were able to produce a run. In extra innings the Bulldogs took the lead to go ahead 8-6, but were unable to hold the Royals to clinch the win. The Royals ended up tying it back up in the bottom of the 8th and securing the win in the bottom of the 9th, taking a 9-8 lead for the final.

Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by lefty hitters, Sophie Bosket and Mackenzie Bedrick. Bosket was 4 for 4 with 1 RBI and scored 1 run, while Bedrick was 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 1 run scored. Hayley Huff also had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Anna Carroll, Elissa Brown, and Clare Flick all had 1 RBI as well.

Senior, Elissa Brown started the game for the Bulldogs in the circle pitching 3.2 innings total and striking out 3. Freshman, Olivia Calero came in to finish the contest off and struck out 1.

The Bulldogs finish up their last week of regular season play Wednesday evening in a nonconference contest against the Lawrence Central Bears. Go Dogs!
