Bulldogs Compete at Carmel Invite

Carroll

The Bulldogs got off to a great start Friday night to begin the Carmel Invite Tourney with an 18-0 win against the Carroll Chargers of Fort Wayne. Freshman, Olivia Calero was the winning pitcher in Friday evenings contest. She allowed 0 hits and had 3 strikeouts.

The offense was led by Junior, Sydney Rodeghier who was 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs. Marah Wood and Elissa Brown were both 2 for 2, Wood had 2 RBIs. Also adding to the Bulldog offense was Sophie Bosket, Anna Carroll (1 HR), Skyle Biliski, Lydia Twomey, Mackenzie Bedrick, Maicey Bedrick, Tori Breckler, and Kyleigh Vaught.

 

Carmel

The Bulldogs faced the Carmel Greyhounds early Saturday morning taking their first loss of the tournament. Elissa Brown tossed the game for Brownsburg, taking only her second loss of the entire season.

The Dogs struggled to get their offense going and came up short a few runs in the bottom of the 7th against the Greyhounds. Senior, Claire Flick was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs, and Anna Carroll and Mackenzie Bedrick were both 2 for 4. Marah wood had a 3 run HR in the 1st inning to put the Bulldogs up 3 runs, but the team struggled to sting hits together the rest of the contest and came up short.

 

Castle

 

The Bulldogs did not mess around in their last contest of the day/tournament. They bounced back right away and put up an impressive 9 runs against the #3 ranked Castle Knights. Freshman, Olivia Calero gained another W in the circle for the Bulldogs, allowing 7 out of the 8 runs scored by the Knights. Senior, Elissa Brown came in to close the game out in the 7th inning allowing only 1 run scored and clutching a save for the Dogs.

Offensively the Bulldog bats were hot. Junior, Sydney Rodegheir was 3 for 4 with a HR and 4 RBIs. Kyleigh Vaught also put one over the fence giving Brownsburg 3 more runs. Sophie Bosket, Anna Carroll, Skyla Bilski, Marah Wood, Mackenzie Bedrick, and Elissa Brown all added hits to the Brownsburg offense as well.

 

The Bulldogs have yet another busy week coming up and are set to face Westfield Shamrocks on Tuesday at home for a Conference contest. Come soak up the sunshine and cheer your Bulldogs on to another conference win at 6pm!
