Boys Track Beats Lebanon/Speedway

The Bulldogs had their first home meet of the outdoor season last night. They competed against Lebanon and Speedway. The boys won the meet scoring a total of 126 points. In the field events, the boys had strong outings from numerous athletes. In the pole vault, Senior Kyle Flandermeyer cleared 12 feet which was a personal best and good for first place. Pierce Thomas won the Long Jump and Reis Thomas won the discus. Dane Middlebrook won the shot put. Freshman John Colquitt impressed high jumping 5'10" and long jumping 20'9.75". Both of those efforts were personal bests for John. The Bulldogs were also dominate on the track. Tyrone Griffin won both the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Shai Sumpter-Bey won the 100 meter dash, Pierce Thomas won the 200 meter dash, and Trey Fisher won the 400 meter dash. All three relays finished in first place. Tyler Nolan won the 1600 meter run and Josh Limbil won the 3200 meter run. The highlight of the night on the track was Junior Alex Freeman. Alex won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:02 which was an open 800 meter personal best. The dogs are back in action on Friday night at the Joe Schott Twighlight Invitational.
