Boys Track & Field Competes at Indoor State

The Bulldog Track and Field team traveled to Bloomington Saturday morning to compete in the Hoosier State Relays. The Bulldogs scored 23 total points to finish 7th in the competition. The boys were led by Sophomore Pierce Thomas. Pierce was the Hoosier State Relays long jump champion leaping 23'6.25" in the competition. His jump was a ¼ inch off the HSR meet record. Senior Tyrone Griffin was another bright spot for the Bulldogs. Tyrone broke the indoor school record in the 60 meter hurdles, running 8.39. Tyrone finished 8th in the competition. The 4x200 meter relay of Gavin Waltz, Andrew Tetrick, Shai Sumpter-Bey, and Marcos Barbosa placed 3rd running 1:31.52. Their time also broke the 4x200 meter relay indoor school record. The boys will be back on the track in two weeks to compete against Lebanon and Speedway in the first home meet of the outdoor season.
