Boys Track & Field Finishes 3rd at HCC Indoor

The Bulldogs competed in the HCC Indoor Invitational Saturday at the University of Indianapolis. The boys finished third in the competition scoring 78.5 points. On the track, the Bulldogs were lead by Shai Sumpter-Bey who placed second in the 60 meter dash and anchored the 4x200 meter relay to a third place finish. The boys distance medley relay of Tyler Nolan, Haiden Diemer-McKinney, Bryan Lomax, and Alex Freeman finished third running 10:55.15. That time was good enough to put that relay in the top 10 in the state of Indiana for that event. In the field events, the highlight of the day came from Sophomore Pierce Thomas. Pierce's first place  jump of 23'7.5" was good for a new school and meet indoor record. Freshman John Colquitt finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 20'5.75". To round out the field events, Sophomore Marcos Barbosa finished third in the high jump. The boys team will be back in action in two weeks when they travel to Indiana University to compete in the Indoor State Meet.
