Boys Track & Field Competes at HSR Qualifier

The Bulldogs traveled to Bloomington Wednesday night to compete in the Bloomington North Invitational at Indiana University. The boys had another strong outing. Senior Tyrone Griffin led off the night with a first place finish in the 60 meter hurdles. Tyrone's time of 8.49 broke the school indoor record in the event. Sophomore Marcos Barbosa finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles. His time of 8.67 places him in the top 20 in the state of Indiana for that event. Marcos also finished second in the high jump clearing 6-4. Senior Shai Sumpter-Bey had a strong outing last night, placing second and running 7.08 in the 60 meter dash. His time was 4/100's off the indoor school record and it puts him in the top 10 in the state of Indiana for that event. Freshman John Colquitt jumped a new personal best of 20'7" and finished third in the long jump. In the pole vault, senior Matt Albert finished second clearing 11'6" and senior Kyle Flandermeyer finished third clearing 11'. The Bulldog 4x200 meter relay of Shai Sumpter-Bey, Gavin Waltz, Andrew Tetrick, and Donny Marcus finished third running 1:32.89. Their time places them 6th in the state of Indiana for that event. The Bulldogs will be back on the track Saturday to compete in the HCC Indoor Invitational.
