Bulldogs Compete at HCC Indoor Meet

The Bulldogs boys track team competed in the HCC Indoor track and field meet this past Saturday. Although the dogs finished 7th in the competition, they scored 60 points for the first time since the start of this track meet in 2013. Two more school records fell Saturday. In his only event of the day, Freshman Pierce Thomas started his track and field career off with a major win in the long jump. Pierce beat the defending state champion in the event, jumping 22'10". Not only does that jump break the indoor school record here at Brownsburg, it was an HCC Indoor Meet Record as well. The second school record to fall was the 60 meter dash. Junior Bryce Kirtz tied his record in the prelims and later broke his record in the finals, placing 3rd and running 7.04. Bryce also ran a smokin 50.3 split on the 4x400 meter relay team that finished 3rd. Other members of that team were Shai Sumpter-Bey, Kyle Davis, and Jack Parker. In the pole vault, Sophomore DJ Terrell once again cleared 11 feet which was good for 7th place. Junior Reis Thomas placed 7th in the shot put throwing 44'5.5". In the high jump, the Bulldogs had two placers. Sophomore Myles Fisher and Junior Tyrone Griffin finished 5th and 6th, both clearing 5'8". Senior Leigh Nutall placed 7th in the long jump with a jump of 19'7". The Bulldogs will be back at it next Friday night as they travel to DePauw.
