Track & Field competes at hcc meet

The Boys track and field team competed last night out in Zionsville in the HCC Conference Championship. The Bulldogs tied for sixth place in the competition. Devin Humes started the night off with a PR of 156'8.5". That throw won the conference championship in the discus. Richard Lang was the other top 5 finisher in the field events. Richard cleared 6 feet in the high jump, which was good enough for 5th place. On the track, the bulldogs got a big boost from Sophomore Bryce Kirtz. Bryce was 5th in the 100 and 4th in the 200. The highlight of the night on the track was the Bulldog sprint relay team. The 4x100 meter relay team of Leigh Nutall, Jon Hammond, Shai Sumpter-Bey, and Bryce Kirtz finished 2nd, running 42.94 (4/100's off the school record in that event). The Bulldogs are back at it next Thursday as they head to Plainfield to compete in the sectional track meet.
