The Girls Track team traveled to Danville Wednesday to compete in the County Championship and came away with a 3rd place finish behind solid teams from Avon and Plainfield. Despite the tough weather conditions several girls put in nice performances as they continue to show a good deal of improvement. Senior Courtney Stull lead the way with a first place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16 seconds. Joy Sopitan continued to lead the sprint crew with her very close 2nd place finish in the 200m dash in 27.08. The jumpers scored a good amount of points as Claire Hathaway finished 2nd in the long jump and Mackenzie Harless finished second in the high jump. Grace Esterline ran her best ever time in the mile as she ran an aggressive race to cross the line in 5:51. Also in the distance races Freshman Gabby Bische and Sophomore Emily Truax finished back to back in 3rd and 4th place. Congratulations to these girls and good luck as the team faces off against Westfield tonight and travels to Zionsville on Friday!
