Senior Night Ends In Victory For Bulldog Swimmers and Divers

The Bulldog boys' swimming and diving team honored nine departing seniors Monday night with a win over the visiting Brebeuf Braves, 99-84.

The senior quartet of Mike Fouch, Matt Phillips, Jared Sadtler and Jared Woodings fittingly opened the meet up with a win in the 200 Medley Relay.  Woodings was a triple winner on the night, adding individual wins in the 100 Backstroke and the 200 I.M. where he was followed by sophomore Kasey Cross for a 1-2 sweep.

Sadtler would return later to win the 100 Breaststroke.  Sophomore Will Berryman led a sweep of the top three places in diving with freshman Kevin McIver and sophomore Grason Horvath.

Juniors Joel Paquin and Brian Collins picked up a 1-2 sweep in the 500 Freestyle.

Freshman Bradley Green teamed with Fouch for a 1-2 sweep of the 100 Butterfly.

The meet was the last home event for seniors Mike Fouch, Kyle Paquin, Matt Phillips, Jared Sadtler, Eric Waggoner and Jared Woodings.  Three senior girl Bulldogs were honored as well, due to the postponement of their original senior night: Kristin Anderson, Erin Shaw and Janet Watson.

The Bulldog boys return to action at the IHSAA Sectional at Plainfield High School. Swimming preliminaries will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, with diving preliminaries (9 a.m.) and swimming and diving finals (1 p.m.) held on Saturday, February 19.
