Boys' Swimmers Defeat Plainfield

Boys' Swimmers Defeat Plainfield

The Bulldog boys' swimming and diving team rolled to a convincing victory on Thursday night over host Plainfield, snapping a pool record on their way to a 108-78 win.

The victorious Bulldog boys 200 Freestyle Relay team of seniors Matt Phillips, Eric Waggoner and Jared Woodings and junior Joel Paquin set a new Plainfield Aquatic Center record of 1:33.00. The record was part of a strong night for Waggoner, who also won the 200 and 500 Freestyle individually, and teamed with Paquin, Phillips and sophomore Kasey Cross to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Phillips and Woodings teamed with senior Jared Sadtler and freshman Bradley Green to win the 200 Medley Relay. Woodings and Joel Paquin combined for a 1-2 sweep of the 100 Freestyle, while Sadtler and senior Kyle Paquin teamed up for a 1-2 sweep of the 100 Breaststroke.

The team will return to action on Tuesday, January 18, hosting the Ben Davis Giants at 6 p.m. at the Bulldog Aquatic Center.
