Boys' Swimming Falls to Zionsville, 103-83.

Boys' Swimming Falls to Zionsville, 103-83.

The Bulldog boys' swimming & diving teams took on state power Zionsville on Tuesday night and despite a spirited effort and outstanding environment at the Bulldog Aquatic Center, the Eagles had too much depth in the end.  The team was in a close fight, eventually falling to the Hoosier Crossroads Conference rival 103-83.

The Bulldogs were in a back and forth battle with the Eagles all night, led by double winner Eric Waggoner. Waggoner, a senior and team captain, finished first in the 50 and 100 Freestyles.

Seniors Kyle Paquin and Matt Phillips added valuable finishes in the 50 Freestyle to give the Dogs an early lead in the meet, while Phillips and sophomore Kasey Cross scored well to help the Dogs reclaim the lead after the 100 Freestyle. Juniors Brian Collins, Joel Paquin and Joe Perkins combined for a 2-3-4 finish in the 500 Freestyle, scoring valuable points for the Dogs.

Phillips and Waggoner teamed with seniors Jared Sadtler and Jared Woodings to finish second in the 200 Medley Relay, while Kyle Paquin, Phillips, Waggoner and Woodings finished second in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Collins, Cross and Joel Paquin teamed with freshman Bradley Green to finish second in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

The Bulldogs return to action this weekend at the Hall of Fame Classic Invitational at Franklin Community High School. Diving preliminaries will take place on Friday, December 3, beginning at 6 p.m. Swimming prelims will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 4 with swimming and diving finals beginning at 4:30 p.m.
