Boys' Soccer to face Avon in the Hendricks County Derby on Tuesday

The boys' soccer team will battle long-time rival Avon in the Hendricks County Derby on Tuesday at home. The winner will take home the coveted B&O Bell.

About the bell

Brownsburg has taken home the bell the past two years and defeated Avon in three of their last four meetings. The Bulldogs claimed victory in the regular season and in the Sectional last season. Brownsburg hadn't beaten Avon twice in the regular season in over a decade.

Brownsburg is 2-1-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play thus far after splitting two road games at Hamilton Southeastern and Franklin Central.

The Bulldogs have scored an average of 2.6 goals per game while yielding 1.995.

Delijah N'gbesso leads the team in scoring with four goals. Noah Yohannes trails shortly behind with three. Yohannes also leads the team in assists with four.

About Avon

Avon is 4-2-1 and 0-2 in the HCC after losses to Hamilton Southeastern and Noblesville.

About the players and coaches

Many of the players in the contest play together on club teams or play against each other in club contests, so they are very familiar with each other.

Coach Josh Brown and Avon's coach Adam Spieth led rival teams at their previous coaching stops as well – Brown at Southport and Spieth at Perry Meridian.

Brown expects this to lead to a fast-paced game with scoring chances for both sides.
