Soccer Falls to HSE in Close Match

Last night, the boy's varsity soccer team hosted HCC defending champion and state ranked #2 HSE in the conference opener. Axel Perez got the Bulldogs on the board in the first 5 minutes with a header on an assist from Alex Callahan. Brownsburg rode that goal into the half to lead 1-0. The Royals fought back early in the second half to tie the game 1-1, but another Axel Perez goal on a beautiful assist from Jacob Risser put the Bulldogs ahead 2-1. Fortune was on the side of the Royals though as a penalty kick goal tied it up with under 8 minutes to play, and then an injured Brownsburg player held HSE onsides to slot in the game winner with 12 seconds left. The Bulldogs fall to 3-2  on the season and 0-1 in HCC play. They return to action next Tuesday against new HCC opponent Franklin Central.
