The Bulldogs are back on track with a win at Terre Haute South Vigo Braves last night, 61-36. Even without two of their regular starters, senior Malek Edmonds and senior Jakobi McGowan, the Dogs continued to rely on each other to earn a well-deserved win.

The 1st quarter saw slim action, with the Dogs barely making it into double digits at the end. Junior Quentin Bragg, junior Pierce Thomas and sophomore Matt Scholz all made it to the basket to give the Dogs a 10-8 lead.

Quarter 2 had senior Connor Lucas scoring his first points of the night, as well as juniors Tyray Lackey and Talibe Diallo. Bragg and Thomas continued to add to Bulldog points and went into the 2nd half of the game with a 10-point lead at 28-18.

In the 3rd quarter, Lucas, Bragg, Thomas and Scholz all added up points to contribute to the Dogs 43-29 lead over the Braves.

In the final quarter, the Bulldogs powered in on defense and held the Braves at 29 points until only 5 minutes remained. Lucas, Thomas, junior Luke Lacey and junior Trevor Nolan all added points to give the Dogs their 61-36 win.

Overall, Thomas was the leading scorer for the Dogs, with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Lucas came in next with 15 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Bragg had 11 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds.

Diallo stepped up with 5 points and Scholz added 4 points. Lacey was a quiet force for the Bulldogs, adding 2 points, but contributing 6 assists and 9 rebounds.

The Dogs will take a rare couple of days off, before starting back up to prep for Shelbyville on Saturday, Feb. 8. The game is set for 2:30 PM at Varsity Fieldhouse.
