The Brownsburg varsity boys' basketball team defeated No. 10/19 Crispus Attucks 57-54 on November 30 to move to 2-0 on the young season. Connor Lucas led the Bulldogs with a career-high 24 points in the win.

It was just the second double-figure scoring effort for Lucas in his Brownsburg career and he did so without scoring in the first quarter. Lucas canned four long balls for the Bulldogs in the win.

Malek Edmonds (15 points) and Pierce Thomas (10 points) also scored in double figures for Brownburg.

After a hot start from the Tigers, Brownsburg responded with a strong surge near the end of the first half. Brownsburg ended the first half on a 7-2 run that trimmed the Attucks lead to 30-27.

Edmonds paced Brownsburg early in the matchup as he scored 8 of Brownsburg's 12 points in the opening quarter. He led Brownsburg with 11 points at the break.

Brownsburg grabbed the lead in the third quarter after back to back offensive rebounds from Matt Scholz. Lucas then connected on his second 3-pointer of the night and gave the Bulldogs a 34-32 lead. Brownsburg took a 45-41 lead into the final quarter after Lucas hit another three pointer just before the end of the third.

The Bulldogs' lead swelled as high as six in the fourth quarter but Attucks trimmed the lead down to a single possesion with under 35 seconds to go. Brownsburg's defense came up big and held off a potential game-tying 3-pointer from the Tigers just before the buzzer.
