Boys' Basketball Shows Out at Scrimmage

By: Maddie Greer

Boys' Basketball showed up to their scrimmage at Center Grove ready to get some gametime practice in before the season officially starts on Wednesday. Scrimmages are 12 minute quarters with a different focus every quarter and a running clock. There were no official stats or scores kept for the game, but both teams got to experience the challenge of playing against a different team.

The first quarter started off with senior Malek Edmonds scoring all 6 of the Dogs first points. Center Grove called a timeout shortly after with the score at 6-2. The Dogs won that quarter 15-13.

Senior Connor Lucas dominated the second quarter with 3 three-pointers, followed by junior Pierce Thomas with 1 three-pointer. That quarter was tied up 17-17.

The third quarter started with a three-pointer early on by junior Quentin Bragg. Junior Thomas made both of his 2 free throws. The Dogs took an easy lead and won that quarter 13-4.

Senior Edmonds showed up again with 3 two-pointers in quarter four. Sophomore Matt Scholz and junior Tyray Lackey both got in a two-pointer as well. The Dogs won 15-13.

The last quarter was a chance for a lot of the new Varsity players to get some gametime practice in.

The Bulldogs will kick off the season on Wednesday at North Central Indianapolis at 7:30 PM.
