Boys Basketball Defeats Plainfield

On Thursday Brownsburg travelled to Plainfield to take on the state ranked Quakers. It was a back-and-forth battle through the first half with the Bulldogs holding a one point lead after one quarter. Brownsburg was not able to create more than a 2-4 point lead in the second quarter. They finished the half with a Cameron Alford layup to put the Dogs up three at halftime. With a few defensive adjustments and a much more aggressive mindset start the third quarter, the bulldogs dominated the quarter with a 21-6 advantage. The team connected on five 3 pointers and played very solid defense to secure a 43-25 lead. The fourth saw Plainfield make a few runs but Brownsburg seemed to Have an answer for every run by the Quakers. Statistically, Malek Edmonds gathered eight rebounds to go with eight points, Reis Thomas was a perfect five for five from the field and chipped in four rebounds to go with his 11 points. Pierce Thomas collected four rebounds and five assist while Ryan Wiggins had eight points and a couple nice defensive plays. Jakobi McGowan hit for seven and combined with Reis Thomas on a couple nice defensive reads against the Plainfield offense.  Cameron Alford lead the team with 14 points, 2 rebounds and two assists. Richard Lang, Connor Lucas, Gunnar Reffeitt, and Luke Lacey all chipped in two to four points in the 65-43 win for the Bulldogs. Brownsburg improves to 14-5 on the season.
